Since February 5th, 827 people have applied for recognition of the status of the victim of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo.

160 of them have been recognised status and already enjoy retirement of 230 euros a month, KTV reports.

Until, 27 others have been denied recognition of status, as the commission has verified that the same have falsely claimed to be victims with the intention of benefiting the insurance. The same may be prosecuted.

However, other apps are in the screening phase.

At the rehabilitation centre of these victims, they say the process is taking a long time after the survivors of sexual violence are failing to complete the necessary documentation.

Recognition of the pension rights for this category has also been a topic of discussion at the Human Rights Interministerial Group meeting.

Labour and Social Management Minister Skender Recica said that with recognition of the status of these victims, all obligations have not been carried out.

Ombudsman Hilmi Jashari ordered the institutions and ministries to implement the recommendations of this institution.

So far, there are no persons in Kosovo who have been convicted of sexual offenses that occurred during the war in Kosovo, until it is considered that hundreds of women and girls were violated during this period.

The last case is that of Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, in which, despite the evidence and evidence offered, the Supreme Court made the decision that the two Serbs charged with violations released as innocent.
