Children will have the same number of romantic partners in life as their mother did, reports a research published in PloSone magazine.
An equal number of mothers and children's partners have nothing to do with social status, but mothers are likely to transfer skills related to romantic relationships with children.
This statement is the result of data research by more than 7,000 US mothers and their biological children from the 1979 National Youth Survey and the National Gender Survey of Children and Youth. They have been followed for at least 24 years.
The research included questions about partners, including those with whom they lived, those with whom they were not, about their relationship with marriage, and those who ended in divorce.
We have found that the number of marriages and the number of partners in the case of mothers was similar to the number of partners and their children's relations”, said Claire Camp Dush, professor of human science at Ohio University, who led the team of researchers.
He says that a number of mother and child partners have nothing to do with social status, but perhaps by transferring skills related to romantic relations with children, learning to interact with everyone and future partners, writes the Daily Mail.
