Learning on Sentence to Veterans Court Required for Retirement

The indictment for lists of fake veterans, made ready by outgoing prosecutor Elez Blakaj, was established during the month of October of this year. The subject of the former Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, considered one of the volumes since the post-war in Kosovo during September, was handed over as such at the Constitutional Court in Pristina.

But it did not take long, and the latter returned the course to Kosovo's Special Prosecutor by attaching the same to certain demands.

And in the prosecution's request there will be a separate proposal. On the part of the prosecutors, an indictment will be proposed, which will be sent to the court that veterans “fraud” are being cut off wages.

We have not given up on our request. The prosecution will again propose to the court the suspension of those veterans' salaries for people to whom it does not belong. Meanwhile, the veterans' indictment, which was made by former prosecutor Elez Blakaj, who resigned without sending him to court. Blakaj accused his superior, Reshat Milak, of having “qen” in preparation for this subject.

The public letter written by Elezaj said he and Millaku had agreed that investigations into veterans' lists would not inform Chief State Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi.

Elesaj accused Lumez of hindering him in his work when he questioned politicians about the relationship “Proto”, but also during the investigation into the case of false veterans.

In addition, according to the Ministry of Labour and Social Management data, for the first seven months of this year's category, more than 44m euros have been allocated.

According to documents from the ministry that have been sent to Radio Free Europe, the number of beneficiaries has increased every month, resulting in the allocation of financial means.

In January, 36,794 veterans worth about 6.3m euros have benefited from this scheme, while in July the number of beneficiaries has risen to 37.771, for which the budget has earmarked around 6.4m euros.

State prosecutor Alexander Lumez has said in an interview with Radio Free Europe that the number of illegal beneficiaries from this category could be as many as 19 thousand.
