Foreign Ministry officials say they're finalising the strategy for economic diplomacy, reflecting also the need to improve this process in the perspective of managing diplomatic human resources, but also the diplomatic extension at the level [...]
And in the Ministry of Commerce, they say they have been working since next year this ministry has commercial attachés.
MPJ Minister Behgjet Pacolli's political adviser, Fatmir Hajolli, has told Kosova Pres that Kosovo currently has diplomats in charge of issues of economic diplomacy, which are in all of Kosovo embassies and consulates, though, according to him, is not the best form of representation of economic diplomacy.
Hajolli has said that soon inter-institutional co-ordination will occur, with MTI contribution and government-level decision-making required, because, according to him, there are budgetary and financial implications to send economic attaching.
Kosovo's “Diplomatic Service is a new service, which is in consolidation and this process will take a little longer. Now the time has come from the current minister Pacolli, who tops economic diplomacy to freeze this issue at the level of decision-making, because it needs, hasn't been done, has to be done soon, and I think that in the coming months, this will be as a necessary need for Kosovo. But, always the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should lead this process and keep it co-ordinated and disciplined, because economic attachés should serve economic themes and trends. And they have to have profiles to adapt to demand in countries where there is interest, to deepen trade and economic co-operation with Kosovo”, Hajoll says.
He has added that economic attachés, should have the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Finance.
While, in the Kosovo Economic Ode, they say that in some countries where the important centers of establishing political diplomacy are, Kosovo should also focus on economic diplomacy, with staff prepared for an adequate approach to the country in which it operates.
OEK Chairman Berat Rukiqi has told Kosovo Preis that appointment of economic attachors plays an important role in economic diplomacy to promote values and capacities in all sectors of the economy.
“The possibility of creating bilateral economic Comedies, which in many cases play an important role in economic diplomacy, even commitments to more economic activities and forums with this country, even at a certain stage why not even the possibility of the appointment of economic unions. We have been in discussions for a long time with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about how to have a strategy and a regular and content plan of economic diplomacy. I believe it's time to understand that much of the embassies, which are also a good part of the embassies to see the model of how they function”, Rukiqi said.
While, Ministry of Trade and Industry officials have told Kosovo Press that they have been working since next year to have trade attachés.

The competition has been, but it's never been meant to have budgeted”, KosovoPress sources say within the MTI.
MPJ officials have said the role of economic attachés is to promote local production, as well as Kosovo's tourist capacity to demonstrate to the world an image of an economically consolidated country with economic potential.
