According to Philip Tyerno, a microbiologist at New York University whenever the toilet is rinsed, the bacteria are sprinkled in the air and “clinchen” behind each object up to 4.5m. This is due to the power created by the flow of water under pressure.
Bacteria and fecal microorganisms in the toilet can jump into the air and survive on different surfaces, even in the toothbrush for four to six hours.
