The Kosovo Democratic League General Council has held the next meeting yesterday. Of the total 99 members of this Council, 50 were not in the meeting hall. To cover up divisions within the party, the quorum for holding this meeting was made by MPs: Arben Gashi, Vjosa Osmani, Driton Selmanaj and Lumir Abdixhiku, who are no part of this Council, Periscope reports.

yesterday's meeting of the LDKA Council was held in a hall in one of the capital's hotels.

The hall was small for 99 members of the party to be represented.

But the hall actually turned out to be big for as many members as they participated.

Periscop sources suggest that 50 members did not attend yesterday's meeting.

According to the same sources, for some there had not even been an invitation from the party.

That, as party chairman Isa Mustafa, and his close associates, such as Agim Veliu, Ismet Beqiri, Avdullah Hoti, and the others, feared controversial voices within the party.

At yesterday's meeting, two vice-presidents of this party, Lutfi Haziri and Haki Rugova, both part of the Council, were missing.

Haziri had recently come up against party positions on the issue of border correction.

This idea, presented by President Hashim Thaci in the LDK, found support only with Deputy Mayor Haziri, who criticised all governments [including that of Isa Mustaf] for neglecting the Presevo Valley Albanians.

For this matter, Periscop contacted Haziri several times, but he was calm.

Nor did Hakki Rugova attend this meeting.

Deputy Chairman Haki Rugova for Periscope has said he could not attend this meeting because of other commitments he has had.

I couldn't participate because of other commitments I've had. I've also announced the party chairman”, Rugova said of Periscope.

Asked whether he had an invitation from the party for yesterday's meeting, he has responded briefly.

Of course I had an invitation. I'm vice president of the party. But I couldn't get rid of other commitments”, Rugova said away about Periscope.

Among the deputies who attended yesterday's meeting, though not a member, was Driton Selmanaj.

Contacted by Periscope, Selmanaj has denied that he attended this meeting to make the party quorum.

As one of the party deputies, Selmanaj said he had an invitation to discuss it.

We have discussed the platform for internal elections we have next year. We have also discussed the LDK's platform with dialogue with Serbia. It was a collection. We didn't go there to do the quorum, but to discuss. Our participation there has nothing to do with that matter. It was the largest number of participants. Nobody knew who would come and who would not, that we hadn't confirmed our participation in that meeting. We don't deal with that topic. For example, at the last meeting of the Council I haven't attended at all since I was abroad”, Selmanaj told Periscope.

On the other hand, he says the party did not even think it would not be the quorum for that meeting.

We didn't even think we could risk the quorum for reasons. Members have had other jobs and have not come. We didn't even think we'd be a few people, but in fact we said we wouldn't be caught by the” said Selmanaj Periscope.

He said the LDKI General Council voted the platform for internal elections and strategy for dialogue yesterday.

But he did not participate in the vote, as there is no right.

The Council has voted for the platform and strategy of dialogue. The two documents have received Council approval. We didn't vote we didn't have a vote. Only members have voted with full voting rights. In a form they have legitimized documents that were already drafted within LDK) ”, Selmanaj said.

MPs like Selmanaj, Osmani, Gashi and Abdixhiku have the right to attend this meeting, but not also vote for or against decisions made there.

Their presence yesterday enabled the party to discuss and vote on that Council.

The chairman of this party, Isa Mustafa, after completing the meeting held a media conference briefly, alone.

At the meeting we defined our positions on dialogue and the issue of making the opposition at both the central and municipal level. It was also said at the meeting that the Assembly has become dysfunctional, like the Government, every third of which is an official minister. We also discussed the party's domestic elections held in May of 2019” Mustafa said, among other things.

Other LDK members, including the nearby deputy speakers, were just spectators of the Mustafa conference, as there were no statements from them.

In the LDK's internal elections, held in 2015, Vjosa Osmani and Arben Gashi had remained outside the General Council, due to their controversial voices against party leader Isa Mustaf.

Both these deputies were vocal against the coalition with the PDK and agreement to make Hashim Thaci president.

While the other two deputies, Lumir Abdixhiku and Driton Selmanaj, have later joined the party.

Abdixhiku and Selmanaj Adored in LDK in May last year [2017], just one month before holding general elections in the country.

They managed to secure enough votes to become MPs.

Whether these two will manage to get the necessary votes to become part of this Council in May of 201950, when the party's internal elections are scheduled.

Although there is time for several months for LDK internal elections, the race for the party's first has only begun.

It is known that within this party there are several groups aimed at occupying the post of current president, Isa Mustafa. Groups and candidates are fighting each other, once directly through the media, and sometimes using other methods of promoting their candidacy. / P ERISCOPIA
