One of the top addiction therapists said that giving your child a wise phone is the same as giving you a gram of cocaine.
According to a conference held in London, spending time exchanging messages with friends at Snapchat) and "Instagram" can produce as much addiction to teenagers as drugs and alcohol, so it should be treated as such.
Specialist Mandy Saligari has said that time spent near screens is often ignored as a problem, but, she says, when you're giving children the tablet or the wise phone, you're actually giving them a bottle of wine or a gram of cocaine.
Her comments follow recent news saying that children as young as 13 years of age are being treated for dependence on digital technology where a large proportion of young people admit that they have no good balance between the time spent on screens and other activities.
In addition, another recent survey of more than 1,500 teachers has found that 33% of them have been aware that students are sharing sexual content with each other, and part of them are primary school students.
So besides that technology is creating a lot of teen dependence, there's also the risk of misusing devices by exchanging sexual content, which can lead to publishing those images/videos from a third party and damaging the child's reputation and causing many other problems.
