The introduction of 100 per cent of the value of goods for Serbian products, by the Government of Kosovo, has triggered numerous reactions from many political centres.
The United States is troubled by the government's decision to establish trade barriers. As we have said, we do not see how Kosovo benefits from these measures. We strongly encourage that the focus return to Kosovo's basic interests its European future and a normalised relationship with Serbia.
The tariffs unduly distract from these goals, damage the international position, and have a negative impact on citizens”, it says, among other things.
The Government's tax decision on Serbian products was taken a day after Kosovo failed to join Interpol. Kosovo politics blames Serbia for aggressive anti-Kosovo lobby.
The American Embassy also comments on the failure at Interpol. According to what Americans say, exactly what happened in Dubai should move Kosovo authorities to maintain constructive engagement on the international plain.
“although very disappointing, the INTERPOL vote underscored the importance of maintaining constructive international engagement”.
The entire US Embassy, which had criticised the government's earlier decision to impose taxes on Serbian products, requires leaders to reduce tensions.
“Call on leaders to reduce tensions, promote a quiet environment, and seek a moment ahead on issues that will meet progress and stability for all citizens”, the American Embassy's response says.
Otherwise, today, representatives of the most powerful diplomatic weight in Kosovo, the so-called Quinn, has met with top state officials, president and prime minister.
Gazette Express sources show that ambassadors have wanted to know more about what is happening in our country, whether with today's action in the country's north or with the customs duty in Serbia.
Haradinaj, meanwhile, has hosted Americans today for the honour of Thanksgiving.
