A powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake has hit Anchorage in Alaska, officials from the national weather agency have confirmed. According to witnesses, the quakes were so strong that roads are split in half as if they were made of paper rather than asphalt. As a result, this earthquake has temporarily stopped teaching in schools. Residents are evacuated from areas that are considered the most vulnerable, fearing that there may be another earthquake.

However, the country's authorities have warned, there may be a tsunami that could have major consequences both on people and on infrastructure. Even the active alarm has been heard warning of a potential tsunami.

According to American media, about 300 thousand citizens live in Anchorage, the site hit by the powerful earthquake that occurred in the early hours of the morning. Police have called on citizens to stay in higher areas because of a potential tsunami.

In published videos, images look like “apocalypse”, where everything is destroyed.
