The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was crashed near the town of Wickenburg, about an hour's journey northwest of Phoenix earlier this month.
She had lost control of the car on the road by crossing a fence before it fell 50m and crashed into a tree.
The 53-year-old woman stayed in the car a few days before following the railway line to ask for help, but was too helpless to make it happen.
The woman was found after two state transport workers and a farmer, who were transporting a cow along the highway, discovered the gap in the fence and found the car in the tree.
But the vehicle was empty, so they followed the woman's tracks until she was found severely dehydrated and with severe wounds.
The accident was then taken to the hospital, but her condition is not yet known.
