This tree has 2,880 roots that emerge from the ground at first glance, as if it were a whole forest, not a single tree.
The large banyan tree (Ficus Benghalensis) is over 250 years old while covering 14,500 square feet [14,500 sq m] of earth's surface. After being attacked by parasites, in the 19th century, the top of this tree, the 157m wide mass had been removed, but fortunately its roots had remained intact.
A 330 - foot [330 m] - long road has been built around this huge tree so that visitors can weave this natural miracle without damaging it.
Over the years, however, this tree continued to expand, so even the road has already been absorbed into its branches, and the expansion limit continues to rise from day to day.
