Vetevendosje MP says there are many shortcomings in Kosovo Army bills

Vetevendosje MP Xhelal Svecla, simultaneously a member of the Commission for Security, has said that in the three bills voted for transforming the Kosovo Security Force into the Army, several shortcomings and obstacles have been noticed. According to him, the first obstacle is the lack of appointment of the Armed Army or Force of Kosovo as part of the transformation. He also added that there are shortcomings in some provisions of the bills, in particular for the period of transformation.
Today's “opening is nothing but an upgrade of KSF quality. We are all for establishing KSF status, for the Kosovo Army, but unfortunately we have no real law for the Kosovo Armed Forces. He has given up his appointment FAK or Army”, he said in Express Interview at KTV.
According to Svecla, shortcomings in the bills are also the purpose and role of the KSF. He has said that in previous drafts, protection of sovereignty has been mentioned, but has now been abolished. The “is true to mention the military force, but not to protect Kosovo's sovereignty”, VV deputy has declared.
He has added that even the ten-year plan, as a process for transforming the KSF, is long. According to him, Kosovo needs military now, “taking into account the report with Serbia”.
“In the latest incident, Serbia's president declared a state of emergency on the rise of Serbia's military level. It is true that we have KFOR and NATO pledge to protect Kosovo, but we need the large and enough Army for any Serbian appetite to turn it back first, and not in case of other steps from Serbia”, he has said.
Svechla has said the obstacle is also the definition of the number of Army members. According to him, each state should do analysis of how many soldiers the country needs.
With the new law we'll have 5,000 KSF members and 3,000 backups. Each country makes growth and reduction depending on risk and potential estimates. The draft law includes the first quotas from NATO. You don't have to set the number. In any case, the military force is greater than police. We've got 8,500 cops and we'll have 5,000 soldiers with new law”, Svechla added.
He has said that despite shortcomings he supported the vote of three bills “due to the will to have an army and the opportunity to change shortcomings during the period of transformation”.
Svechla has also criticised the Serbian List for its stance against the Kosovo Army. He has said that if they consider themselves citizens of Kosovo they should understand that the Army has nothing against the Serb minority. “Forcing the important component such as security, should love any citizen”, he said.
He has added that the Army is the last institution to have shortcomings in the law or even capacities.
The unfair report between Kosovo and Serbia”, according to Svecla, has enabled Serbia to react to actions to boost security in Kosovo.
“We need less army members in the vicinity of Albania, Montenegro and Macedonia, but we need more in the vicinity of Serbia because it has aspirations to the territory. Restrictions, either from external factors or from political subjects who say they are part of Kosovo and are actually Belgrade's address or come from Serbia. We saw Serbia's reaction why the president of Kosovo visited the north. We have never reacted when the Serbian president visited Vojvodina. This is because we have a fair report between Kosovo and Serbia, and this report is continuing to stay because of the harmful daily policies of Kosovo leaders”, Svechla has added.
Svechla has also spoken of early elections. According to him, the government's numerous scandals, the blocking of the Parliament and its boycott by the ruling coalition have led abnormal lives of institutions. Everything is backwards and the antidote for this is the new” elections, it's finished.
