The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has described Saudi Arabia's first official statement about the mysterious murder of Saudi journalist Jahmal Khashogi, within the Arab consulate in Turkey as reliable.
President Trump has said that Saudi Arabia's official statement regarding this case is a very important first step in the case, writes The Guradian.
I believe you. It's still early, and we haven't finished the investigation yet, but... I think it's a very important step”, Trump said when asked by journalists if you trust the Arab authorities.
Initially, the Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak had reported that Saudi journalist had been killed by some 15 Saudi secret agents. According to audio-incisions the paper claimed to have received from the Turkish Intelligence Agency, it proved that Khashogi was massacred within the Turkish consulate.
However, Arab authorities have come up with another version of the event.
They have said that Khashogi has passed away after a physical clash he had within the Saudi Arabia consulate in Istanbul.
The Turkish State Prosecutor, meanwhile, has expanded the investigation into the case from yesterday, and the lifeless body of Saudi journalist is suspected to have been thrown into one of Istanbul's mountains.
