Recica: 6.4m euros have been earmarked for former political prisoners

Labour and Social Management Minister Skender Recica said 10.5m euros were earmarked for the compensation of materials for former political prisoners for the year 2018.

According to the minister from January to September 2018, 6.4m euros have been repaid.

This clarification comes after MP Rasim Selamanaj's question, who has asked the minister that “why delays are taking place in compensation for material supplies to former political prisoners who have suffered for years in Serbian prisons”.

Recica said this is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Labour and Social Management, but of the government commission for former political convicts.

This is the government commission's responsibility for former political convicts. The Labour Ministry only does the execution of payments according to the lists the government commission brings to the compensation of political prisoners”, Recica concluded.
