Putin has emerged first with 39%, followed by ultranationalist Vladimir Girinovski and Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu, both with 15% support.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has emerged fourth with 10%.
The survey found that trust in Putin has declined for 9% since June, and for 20% since November last year, it has followed. REL.
Putin, who has been president, once Russia's prime minister since 2000, has won the presidential election in March, with over 76% of the vote.
Putin's lowest rating, in a Levada centre survey, was in August 2013, when 30% of respondents said he is a trusted politician.
Its popularity has grown to over 80% in 2014, as Russia annexed Crime from Ukraine.
