Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has no authority for the Kosovo Liberation Army veterans' process to turn to zero point. Such a request, which has been made by representatives of the KLA War Veterans Organisation for Thaci's intervention in this process, cannot be realised.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, on Tuesday after a meeting he had with representatives of the Kosovo Liberation Army Veterans' Organisation, indicated that they have asked him to exercise his authority that the entire process for veterans' lists return to zero, viewing this as the only opportunity to overcome numerous irregularities.
However, according to law-finders, the country's president has no authority to do so.
They estimate that the only form through which the president of the country can influence this process is through the initiative to complete the Law on War Veterans, writes the newspaper “Zer”.
However, any legal initiative, including the latter, must pass through the Kosovo Assembly under legal procedures for review and approval.
They stress that Kosovo's Assembly is the authority, which decides regarding the change and implementation of laws in Kosovo.
