The World Bank now established a new $150 million fund to help countries exposed to the dangers of natural disasters caused by climate change.
This announcement comes after a series of natural disasters worldwide, amid many hurricanes and deadly earthquakes, mainly in late September in Indonesia, where the World Bank and IMF will meet this week.
Fund called “Global Resk Financing Facility” (GRIF), mainly from German and British funds, will finance the creation of a security regime as well as other financial mechanisms in order to unlock loans once a disaster occurs
