Podgorica's municipal Assembly has approved the Montenegrin capital mayor Ivan Vukovic's proposal in Podgorica to raise monuments to former Yugoslav Freedom Josip Broz Tito.
Such a decision has been supported by the ruling party's asganists and two assistants of the Civic Movement, URA.
Vukovic has said that the initiative to set up such a monument does not present jugonostalgi, but evidence that Montenegro remains loyal to anti-fascist orientation, reports RTCG, broadcast Koha.net.
“Antifasism in Montenegro continues and the state does not intend to leave that street”, Vukovic said. He has added that in Tito's time, the regime has not been democratic, but the alternatives have been much worse.
