Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj has said early elections can happen, but only when it is in Kosovo's interest, noting that state interest before the party. But Limaj himself is more engaged in party gatherings with citizens than in Government, where he holds the post of deputy prime minister.
Limaj has said the importance is joining political structures and reaching consensus on interests in the country's best interests,
Kosovo has other important issues to deal with before entering early elections. The country should not be held hostage by them, but continue in further developments”, Limaj told EO.
The chairman of the Social Democrat Initiative has said there is no signal that there will be new elections this year, while the party's recent meetings, which he heads, have been called ordinary, working within the party.
“This year no one has any real expectations, I think you know there is no sign that there will be an election this year, but we as a party work and develop, we are strengthened, we are prepared, we contact our electorate, we discuss, we report with the electorate to achieve, and this is a normal political life that we continue to make and do (4)x1>, Limaj said.
According to him, the inevitable situation of early elections arises when the tasks are not carried out, when the topics are not closed when the government does not carry out its task. “So far, we have not without such signals”, Limaj said, noting that early elections do not help the country, even according to him, they can make the country's position in the international arena difficult.
He expects Kosovo-Serbia dialogue to unite political forces and will by no means send the country to the polls.
I am expecting the question of dialogue to unite us very soon, not to lead us to elections. I am very soon waiting for the majority of Kosovo parliament deputies to vote on the state delegation for talks and normalise this” situation, he said.
