A widow bound behind a wheelchair left a red rose near the lake, where her husband's ashes were scattered with a note asking the person who found him throwing it for the rose in the lake as a reminder to her late husband.
The unidentified woman left her message written on a piece of paper wrapping the rose near Lake Powell'sPool in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, where she explained that because she was in the chariot, she couldn't get through the gate and much less get into the water to throw the rose for her late husband.
Ian Bousfield, member of Bishop Vesey's Rammar School Rowing, who trains in water, found the note and immediately fulfilled her request, posting a picture of the flower on Twitter, with the message: “Whoever you are, I want to assure you that your rose is in the middle of Lake”.
The post has been divided worldwide by Twitter users, as far as the US and remote Australia, commenting that the gesture had restored their trust in humanity.
