Home of elderly people without an ambulance in trouble for medical visits

At the seniors' home in Pristina, 63 elderly people are currently located, without family care. Knowing that these older ones have various health problems because of their age, this home lacks an ambulance on emergencies. The residents themselves complain about this, while the Ministry of Labour and Social Management has chosen to remain silent.

Now eleven years she's taken care of this place. She came to the home of the elderly with her husband, but three years ago he passed away.

As if his years are not enough for him, his health will decline that day.

Taibe Vitita, 76 years old now is having a breathing problem, but in the absence of an ambulance, she has not been able to do medical examination, and the drugs have been forced to buy herself.

You know, well, well, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, you know, like, three weeks of medical vacation, I can't go into control, because, uh, you know, the drugs are supposed to buy them, I'm not talking about what, you're not breathing. So... I just have to buy medicine. When there's a cure, but I have to buy it myself... but I have to pay it myself, says Vitia.

The same demand is made by the director of this house, Raza Alfakj, where he even mentions that this house, even though it has a functional elevator, is quite outdated.

I've wanted to have a new one, because we're too old. We need an ambulance for customers to be more suitable for their transport, when we need to transport them to the CKUK and to family medical centers. I wanted the elevator with a new one, because we've got a lot of old”, Alchaj declares.

The 63 residents of this house spend the day here. Some with hand jobs, some watching television, others using their park outside this house.

Yet, they say that it is very difficult for old age to pass away from family members.

Razie Fane has been in this house for two months. The mid-lot tells how hard you're going through these days, when his relatives recently died too.

At the seniors' home in Pristina, 63 people are accommodated. Of them 37 women and 26 men.

The director of the House of the Non-Afflicteds, Raza Alikaj, tells of the dedication of all the staff to provide quality services by making little easier for their families.

We're the institution that's trying to meet the gaps and shortcomings they have in the family, but in emotional emptinesss it's probably a little harder because some things you can't do anymore, no matter how easy you can. And we work on a continuous basis with all the staff that we have to make these feel really comfortable”, Alchaj says.

Service at the home of the elderly is 24 hours old, and its capacity is up to 100.

There are 55 people employed in this house, including social, health, and kitchen service.
