Part of this network is located underground.
KEDS, in this location, has installed a total of 82 concrete pillars, of which 21 are for medium tension and 61 for low tension. Also, a 160 KVA transformatator has been established, as well as around 3.5 kilometers of cable. About a mile [1 km] of the middle - pressure cable is placed underground.
KED spokesman Viktor Buzhala, has said that about 70 houses in the area have benefited from the company's current investment.
This project is important because we have replaced large numbers of electrical poles. This adds security to residents on that side since past pillars have been old and damaged, and at the same time we have increased the quality of the power supply”, he said.
“also, a part of the new network has been introduced underground, which further increases the quality of energy supply”, has added Buzhala.
The Distribution Network Development Plan is a master plan of KEDS that envisions investing 300m euros in Kosovo's electricity distribution network by 2025.
Through this master plan, KEDS learns to renew the electrical network and make it similar to the electrical networks of developed European countries.
