Bushati: This will be the focus of next meeting between Albania, Kosovo

Under the Albania-Kosovo cross-border co-operation programme, financed by the European Union, Albania's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati said from the town of Kukes that the next meeting between the two governments will soon take place. “in a few weeks in the next meeting between the Kosovo government. [...]
The “in a few weeks in which we will have the next meeting between the Kosovo government and Albania, to be held in Pec, where the topic of discussion will also be the need for further relief in terms of cross-border co-operation, to create more ease in this direction”, Busati said, reports ATA.
In response to rumours in the Balkans, which the minister named nationalist, he said that “while in the Balkans the following is about nationalist themes, we Albanians do well to focus on concrete issues, which affect the lives of citizens”.
According to the minister, through cross-border co-operation programmes, thanks to EU assistance, there is an opportunity and interconnection not just between two different areas of Albania and Kosovo, but above all among the populations living in these areas and regions, which in the case of Albania and Kosovo, there is a specificity, because, according to him, at the end of the day we are a nation and we speak a language.
3 EU-funded programmes are the Shishtavec-Krusheva customs dot, environmental protection and waste management programme, as well as the Dinarica line extension programme, which concerns the Albania-Kosovo cross-border region.
Touching the EU membership process, the latter, according to him, is the process that starts initially with changing the dynamics of local communities.
“Membership in the European Union is not a process that concerns implementation of the Justice Reform, it is not a process that concerns fighting organised crime, talking about topics that are very concrete and through some concrete but significant projects to change the dynamics of different local communities”, the minister said, among other things.
