The Information Commissioner's office (ICO) has concluded that Facebook has allowed a serious violation of the law in this case.

Facebook has failed to ensure that personal data is protected because it has not effectively checked apps and people who have worked on app development.
Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham also noted that Facebook has failed to protect “its users' privacy”.
