The Albanian Ministry of Justice has forwarded the request for Albert Veliu's extradition, otherwise known as “Babitalja”.
But, it will be the Pristina court that will review the application and decide for its approval or not.
Veliu has been arrested Thursday afternoon at a centre of asylum seekers in Pristina, where he was staying since June, with the claim that his life was in danger in Albania after having denounced a case for drug trafficking.
But he was acquitted yesterday by the Pristina court. Although it has applied for 4 months for asylum, Albert Veliu has not yet received answers from the Kosovo side. A few days ago, the Randa Criminals Court appointed the security measure in the absence of a 51-year-old accused of false speculation committed in illegal border co-operation and crossings.
According to the prosecution, thanks to the audio-hearing investigation published by the Democratic Party, it has resulted in “Babija” making it up in exchange for 200 thousand euros.
