“Kosovo should be involved in the new European Commission strategy for enlargement like all Western Balkan countries”, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said at the world economic forum held in Davos, Switzerland, which had the acceleration and long-term development of this region in the EU.
After discussions, it was said that Kosovo is involved in this strategy, but the country has to carry out its duties as well. One of them is respect for international agreements.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci declared in interview RTK in Davos, that with the new strategy for the Western Balkans to be presented by European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker in February, an opportunity arises for Kosovo to take over its obligations and for the country to be responsible in the face of international requirements and agreements.
“The EU views the Western Balkans as a whole. The strategy for these countries will be driving for public and reform. Kosovo has noted progress in reforms”, he said.
One of them, he said, is also ratification of demarcation with Montenegro so that the country can gain visa liberalisation.
According to Thaci, more foreign investment will be worked. He said peace between Kosovo and Serbia is good for all in the region.
