Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has recalled January 23rd the appointment of Madeleine Albright to the US Secretary of State.
Thaci has indicated that Albright's mandate has left huge traces even in Kosovo.
“In the chronology of political history, January 23, 1997, marks the first appointment of a woman for US Secretary of State. Mrs. Albright's mandate has left huge traces for us as well in Kosovo. HTH” wrote Thaci on Facebook.
Madeleine Albright became the first American Secretary of State when she was unanimously confirmed by the Senate under President Bill Clinton's administration.
She was sworn in on January 23, 1997.
