Teachers warn strike if they don't raise salaries, that's Haradinaj's reaction

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has ignored the warning of the strikers in the event they do not have their salaries raised on their request, as long as he has continued to justify raising the salary he made to himself and his cabinet. Whether to raise salaries by 4.6 percent is within the electoral promise. For 30% it's for this mandate, we will keep this promise. For unrest, we make trouble when we want our country to be, but so is the government's decision as I am” Haradinaj said.
Haradinaj further went on to justify raising his salary and his cabinet. The decision on doubling salaries in government cannot be compared to increasing public sector wages in general.
“Pay raise for the government chief and ministers is a political decision of those who have responsibilities, but who cannot enter the same category as wage increases in the entire public sector because there is salary ranking”, Haradinaj said.
Haradinaj as the country's prime minister had made a decision weeks earlier, where his salary of between 1,000 and 300 euros would increase 100% by becoming 2950 euros. In that decision Haradinaj had also raised the government cabinet's salary.
The United Union for Education, Culture and Science(SBASHK) had warned weeks earlier of general strike, as, according to them, the warned wage increase is extremely low.
