A violent storm of up to 200km/h hit Switzerland on Wednesday, creating chaos in the country. The storm known as “Briglind” left at least 16 people injured, local media reports.
A train car at Lenk locale, Berner Oberland region of Bernton Canton, has emerged from the tracks and has fallen down by wind power, as announced by the Montreux-Oberland-Bhn railway company, eight people from 22 passengers traveling on the train were injured in the accident.
The storm has caused major problems today on the A1 highway from Bern to Oensingen. The entire traffic has been blocked on this line due to a truck crash.
The images published through social media videos present dramatic scenes.
In the Bern Canton and Loucerne, the storm has thrown down trees with what has been caused in railway and road traffic disorders.
Additionally, there are no electricity left in Bernton, 14,000 homes, and there are no ship movements in the same canton at Thun Lake.
