Fadil Milaku, reactor of UP HAji Zeka', in Pec, has said the university he runs is stable and that he hopes very much the same will continue to function as such.
Millaku's comments were made on Radio Dukagjin's show. Asked about currentity and discussions about converting some universities into academic entities, Milaku has voiced conviction that the public university of Pec will continue to function as such with even greater advancements.
The public University of Peja, Haxhi Zeka, is stable. It meets all criteria to be a university. This thing is already known. I say with conviction that after the war, the best thing that happened to Pec was exactly the foundation of the Upgi Zeka. We have 12 thousand students today, 5 faculties and 18 programs. This year we're preparing to do the opening of doctoral studies at the business faculty. Progress commitments are continuing. ”- Has voiced Millaku.
Rector Fadil Milaku has further explained some of the reasons, which, according to him, distinguish this university from other public universities in Kosovo.
Peja's sub-university is found in a region that is influential in many businesses, it is up to me to create frameworks for these businesses. Then we don't forget, there are students from all parts of the country and the region. We have students from Novi Pazar, Rozhaja, Plava, Gusija and Tuzi. Another particular thing is that we apply studies in Albanian and Bosnian. The co-operation has also started with Zagreb University. ”- said Millaku
Millaku has indicated that very soon this university will also increase its functioning as an independent budgetary unit, which he says believes in the education minister's readiness as well.
I think the new minister of education, Mr. Bytyqi, it's for university profiles, but we meet all standards to be independent budgetary units. ”- said Millaku for Radio Dukagjin.
