There were 20,000 medical services performed at the Psychiatric Clinic throughout the past year with more than 800 hospital patients. This clinic, according to its leaders, faces numerous shortages, whether of drugs or even of patients' accommodation beds. They miss medicine, even those on the vital list. In cases of depression in patients, there are no major pills for depression, such as an ampula "antidepressant."

If someone goes through a depressive period and the same is sent for treatment at the CKUK Psychiatric Clinic, he will hardly be able to receive adequate medical treatment. This clinic often torments the main medicine against depression, although the same is on the hospital's vital list of drugs.

Patients in most cases are forced to buy this bar themselves. Although in times of crisis his application to patients is inevitable.

QKUK Psychiatric Clinic Director Shaban Mecina has clarified for Expresss about the difficulties he faces clinics he runs. He says that for lack of medicines and regular supplies, he has several times made requests at the USKKUKA Directorate.

For the absence of a éantidepressant tablet, Mecina says doctors are forced to ask the family of patients to go shopping at private drugs.

There are times when we are missing our list of vital drugs. We often remain unconventional. Unfortunately, when we're missing we're forced to tell families to buy it”, the doctor says.

Mecian explains that the clinic he runs has four intraspital departments available with a total of 68 beds for patients in need. But this number, according to him, is insufficient considering the large number of patients.

These conditions are not enough because the Psychiatric Clinic performs secondary and rinse services. Patients in our clinic stay for up to two weeks, depending on disorders”, Mecina says.

This clinic, according to director Shaban Mecina, has offered over 20,000 medical services throughout the past year, with about 800 hospitals.

Psychiatric Clinic Director Mecina also explains the reasons Kosovars are pushing to depression. He says that living conditions, genetic factors, daily stress, are some of the causes of depression.

“Arsyet, which is pushing Kosovars towards depression, is daily stress, are situations that lead to infectious situations, often even in forms of depression, all other living conditions, unemployment, inconspective”, he says.

Mecian also shows that depression is shown in femininity rather than male.

These are the factors that need to influence mood disorders, obviously including other factors, such as genetics and inherited ones. In psychologologists, for example, in drug users, we're more likely to encounter them in the male gender, in depression, maybe more in the female gender”.

Drugs Use Children

In Kosovo, there is no precise data about the number of narcotics users. However, according to some research, it is reported that the number of regular drug users in the country can reach 5,000. The average age of users turns out to be quite disturbing. The most used drug type by Kosovo youth, according to the Psychiatry Director, turns out to be marijuana. This type is even being used by 12-year-olds in Kosovo.

We can say in charge that we have an increase in the number of drug users. Marihwana is using relatively young age. The youngest age we've had was up to 12-13 years old. So they're mostly young at the end of elementary school and at the start of the <x1 secondary school, the director of the Psychiatry Clinic at QKUKUK Shaban Mecina explains about Express.

Depression Leads to Suicide

During just this month throughout Kosovo, seven people have taken their own life. On this issue, QKU Psychologist Shaban Mecina has clarified possible factors that are leading Kosovars to take their lives. He says the main cause is the depressed state.

“Depressive conditions are suicide. Unfortunately, some of them commit suicide. And it's unfortunately those people who had higher depression. Suicide is also committed by those who do not have family or social support. Then the financial situation, unemployment”, explains the director of the Psychiatry Clan.

There is no material security. So we're aware of the number. We still don't have accurate suicide statistics”, says Mecianya.
