MP PDK: Kadri Wessel violated the Constitution

MPs, who through 43 signatures initiated a request for the abolition of the Special Court Law about two weeks ago, have not given up their stance.

On the contrary, they consider the head of the Assembly to be violating the Constitution because it did not call for an extraordinary session (December 22nd, the day the signatures were collected) on the pretext that there was no quorum, writes the newspaper “Voice” today.

Even connoisseurs of the legislature's work in Kosovo claim the same, with whom they say the reasoning for lack of quorum does not stand.

Meanwhile, in terms of the abolition of specials they have indicated that there are some steps to be followed, which, among other things, include constitutional changes.

And while the LDK is determined not to support the request to abolish the Court in question, representatives of the movement “Vetevendosje” say the LVV has the same attitude as 2015 and that the abolition should be done on the basis of parliamentary norms.

Despite this, members of the Parliament's Headship have said there is still no announcement when the meeting could be held to set the session required for the special abolition.

MP The PDK, Nat Hasani, whose first name is found on the list of those seeking the abolition of the Special Court, has estimated that the head of the Parliament has violated the Constitution since it has not called the session when called by MPs.

“We have requested the session, the session should be requested to meet in 22, it has not done so, it has violated the Constitution. Signings are binding on headship to call an extraordinary meeting. By quorum or without the quorum, the chairman must call the meeting. The violation of this has become”, he stated.
