The parties from North Korea will consist of artists and journalists, South Korean Union Minister Chun Hae-sung said after the end of the first session of talks Tuesday.
Chun added that South Korea has proposed that the two choirs make a march together along the opening and closing of the Pyongchang ceremony, which will open on February 9, 2018, reports the “The Guardian”, the Periscope broadcast.
The agreement represents a careful diplomatic progress after several months of mounting tensions over the European nuclear weapons programme.
The five members of the North Korean delegation have travelled to the border with a convoy to cross into the demilitarized area in a village called Panmunjom about 9:30 a.m. local time.
