During November and December last year, invitations to participation in morning prayers in the United States have been sent, but Haradinaj is still awaiting visa response, officials from his cabinet told Radio Free Europe.

His deputy, Dalibor Yevtic, has also been invited and, as confirmed, he will attend the event.

Similarly, Haradinaj had canceled his visit to Iowa, U.S.A., where he was invited on January 11th by National Guard Commander Timothy E. Hours. It was the lack of a visa that he cancelled the visit, and instead the first Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli travelled there.

Some media in Kosovo linked the procrastination to release the American visa to Prime Minister Haradinaj at the initiative in Pristina for abolishing the Law for the Special War Crimes Court, which the United States has strongly rejected.

In late December, 43 MPs initiated the initiative, which they handed over to the Parliament's Headship for abolishing the Special Court for War Crimes Law, calling it an ethnic one. This court is expected to try cases in connection with the allegations of crimes committed by former Kosovo Liberation Army members against non-Albanian communities during 1998 ' 2000s. Haradinaj, had declared that he would respect the decision Parliament deputies will take.

Meanwhile, the Parliament's Headship followed this initiative to the Government to give the opinion within a month's term. The initiative to abolish the Law for the Special Court could be restored to the Assembly within two months.

Lastly, US Ambassador to Pristina Greg Delawi has declared that Kosovo Parliament deputies who support this initiative, as well as politicians behind it, despite publicly refusing to accept it, will face severe consequences.

The invitation to participate in morning prayer has been received by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, Parliament Speaker Kadri Wessel. Both possess the American visa, confirmed by their cabinets.

Likewise, the invitation to share in morning prayer has been extended to MPs: Blerta Deliu-Codra (PDK), Andmend Zemaj (LDK), Slobodan Petrovic (The Independent Liberal Party).

MP Blerta Deliu-Codra, otherwise, has been one of the initials to sign the request for abolishing the Law for the Special Court. Contacted by Radio Free Europe, she has confirmed her participation in the Washington event.

National Morning Prayers are an old tradition for more than six decades, according to which, each year, on February 4th, the president of the United States of America, members of Congress, American politicians, and military leaders, as well as guests from hundreds of countries in the world.

This tradition of national prayer has started since President Dwight Eisenhower, 1952. Then Senator Frank Carlson of Kansas had spontaneously invited President Eisenhower to the Senate for a joint prayer for the success of the Government.

Thus, the initial idea of joint prayers of the position and opposition for US peace and success was extended to the international prayer body between American leaders and those from many countries around the world.

The national morning prayer is a manifestation that lasts several days and gathers some 3,500 guests. Various meetings, lunch and dinners take place, but the main event is Thursday morning, when the president of the United States will speak, as well as one of the guests, but his identity is not made public at this stage.
