Will the Macedonian president sign the Law for Albanian?

With 69 pro and no votes -- in the Macedonian Assembly Hall, where VMRO DPMNE lawmakers were missing -- green light was given to the language law, which will solve the early driver's use of Albanian in official institutions. The law envisions that, apart from Macedonian, the official language rather than Albanian and its alphabet. It was the agreement between the LSDM and DUI on this nerve issue that brought their co-governance to life, but the debates surrounding the law, which finally ended after many procrastinating the Ohrid Agreement, have not been missed even outside the House of Parliament.
In an interview for Top Channel, DUI parliamentary group chairman Artan Grubi shows what this law means.
The law equates Albanian with Macedonian in all Macedonia's central power organs. It means, with this law today the presidency has to speak Albanian, the government has to speak Albanian, the Parliament has spoken Albanian, but will speak Albanian. Courts, notaries, prosecutors” will speak, Grubi says.
But, the law on languages will now have to face and another challenge -- that of decree by President Djordje Ivanov -- which is impervious to Grubi.
“If Ivanov keeps his word said in December of last year, which will challenge the law on languages, then this law in 30 days will be returned to the country at the plenary session, where it will be revoted once again with 61 votes of pro”, the leader of the DUI parliamentary group explains.
News of Macedonia's language law voting has also been welcomed by official Tirana. President Ilir Meta, Prime Minister Edi Rama, DP leader Lulzim Basha and LSI chairman Monica Grandi have described him as a historic moment, not only for Albanians but for Macedonia itself.
