In a preliminary assessment, the director of Geology, Cano Nora, said that the cause of the slide was done for building a palace at the bottom of the hill, even though this area is classified as inappropriate for construction.
According to Nora, urgent measures must be taken for water management and for the construction of protective walls. There is still no call for evacuation of residents, yet the slide is considered active and detailed estimates are expected to determine the management of the ongoing situation.
