Juncker says Western Balkans a priority of EU

In his speech, the senior official said that this region needs attention so that it does not repeat the wars experienced in the 1990s.
He added further than that starting with this idea, Brussels and the bloc member states must once again confirm their European perspective.
Unlike Juncker's view, the Balkans risk taking a step back that is not positive in anyone's memory.
Bulgaria, which will be in charge of the EU presidency, has also expressed the will to advance the integration processes of regional countries.
More specifically, Albania and Macedonia are intended to open negotiations, while Serbia and Montenegro advance further in the chapters they are discussing with Brussels.
