The deputy head of the War Veterans' Organisation (OVLUÇK) and also the initiator of the idea for the abolition of the Special Court, Nasim Haradinaj, has commented yesterday's statement by Chief Parliamentary, Kadri Wessel, regarding the initiative.
“We are for the court to be nonethnic”, Nasim Haradinaj told KALLXO.com.
According to him, MPs have been put under pressure since the day the initiative for collecting signatures for a law that would abolish the court founded by the Kosovo Assembly in August 2015.
We have talked to deputies. No matter the pressures being put on them, we are optimistic that the Special Court will be abolished”, he said.
“Pressures are media and diplomatic”, Nasim Haradinaj added.
He said that for their initiative O VLKLA has not talked with the heads of state institutions.
We didn't even start with them, nor do we want to do it with”, he said.
Yesterday in a Facebook post, Nasim Haradinaj has reacted sharply to Kadri Wessel's comment, saying that abolishing the Special Law will take place at the upcoming Kosovo Assembly meeting.
The initiative to abolish the Special Court law was brought to the Assembly by some MPs in late December.
This prompted numerous international reactions.
