The Kosovo government has one month to give its opinion on the initiative of a group of MPs for abolishing the Law for the Special Court.
Meanwhile, with or without the government's opinion, the parliamentary initiative could be considered in the Kosovo Assembly in a two-month deadline from the date when it was initiated.
But, currently, Kosovo Prime Minister Halil Matoshi's adviser, told Radio Free Europe that “the government has not yet received an official document from the Parliament and that the issue will be addressed when that document comes to Government”.
The group of 43 deputies, mainly from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Initiative for Kosovo, has initiated abolishing the Special Court Law since 22 December.
The request was addressed to the Parliament's Headship for calling an extraordinary session in which the Special Chambers Law would be abolished.
According to the labour regulation, the Government remains to give its opinion within a month in written form, since the Parliament's Headship has handed this initiative to the executive.
