In a message sent to Periscop's editorial, a group of citizens from Gjakova have asked the Prosecution to establish a war crimes indictment against the former mayors of this municipality, Gjica Stanojevic. Read the complete paper edited by staff:
The former Serb mayor of this municipality, Mr. Stanojevic tits. Representatives of civil society in Gjakova have deposited in the Theal Prosecution in this city, demanding the establishment of a war crimes indictment against Stanojevic.
In the letter civil society has handed over to chief prosecutor in Gjakova, Mr. Ali Selimaj, reportedly on the basis of evidence they possess and on the basis of the Kosovo Republic's penal code, Gjonica Stanojevic must stand up for indictment and be tried for crimes committed against the civilian population in the municipality during 1998-1999.
“We also have evidence that the former head of the Gjakova municipality during the October-November 1998 and January 8, 1999, in Gjakova, has been hosting the 200-strong Seheshel and Arkan group's paramilitary forces, as well as from Frankie of 30:x1>.
Furthermore on paper, Gjica Stanojevic is said to have hosted and organised operational work together with Atanas Cocolanski, Zdravko Vintar and Goran Yeftovic. Besides raising the indictment through paper, civil society in Gjakova has demanded that it be denied entry into the city until the outcome of judgment and deserved punishment.
