EULEX has renounced the trial of Uke Rugova, former Culture Minister Astrit Haraqija and 18 others charged with organised crime.
These days the subject has been handed over to local judges. Based on the decision that has provided “Koha Ditore”, after reevaluating the burden of the judges' work, EULEX has estimated that they no longer have the capacity to try this criminal case further.
Consequently, after two years of the entire judicial process in the Italian visa scandal will be returned to the starting point.
The Pristina Foundation Court, as the paper has been informed, has already appointed a local judge to try Rugova and others.
Meanwhile, the defendant's defence lawyers have said they have no information on EULEX's withdrawal and that they cannot comment on the decision.
