EU shows when work is expected to be completed on bridge over Iber

Works on the main bridge over the Iber River in Mitrovica since August last month have remained suspended. The European Union's million-euro bridge was intended to open for vehicle circulation in January last year, but because of the construction of the wall and then its collapse, as well as [...] agreements.
However, the European Union in an electronic answer to Indexline has said it hopes that progress will be achieved this year on this project, which has been under way for years.
“Works on and around the bridge were suspended in August. The situation has not changed since then. The EU hopes that progress on the” project will be made since the early months of 2018, the EU office in Kosovo said.
Although the project on the bridge has not gone quickly, other projects, such as pedestrian area and sports object Omnisport, have already been completed.
These EU-funded projects total nearly 10m euros.
The EU-funded project for the pedestrian area, worth 2.13m euros, and the Omnisport sports object worth 7.8m euros has been completed and handed over to the beneficiaries, which is the South Mitrovica municipality”, is said to be in their response to Indexline.
As for the Business Centre, the latter is financed by the Government of Kosovo and is under the responsibility of the South Mitrovica municipality.
These projects have been funded by the European Union in order to create better conditions for Serbian citizens of North Mitrovica.
