This measure will enable the state of emergency to stand in force until April 19th.
This three-month extension was approved by the Islamist-conservative Justice and Development Party of President Recep Tayip Erdogan, who dominates Parliament and the ultranationalist National Movement (MHP) party.
On the other hand, opposition parties and human rights activists have long called for an end to the state of emergency, which guarantees the government expanded power.
