The storm, named Friedrich, has landed on Thursday with winds of 130 miles per hour.
The damage caused totals 500m euros, the Insurance Industry Association announced.
The fallen trees and other debris continue to block several railway lines, even though the work of cleaning them continues.
According to authorities, this has been the most powerful storm that has hit Germany in the last 11 years.
The winds have then moved east of Poland.
