More than 30 miles (48 km) from the main coastal road have been closed. Police said the “scene looked like a World War I battlefield”.
A group of 300 people reportedly were stranded in Romero Canyon neighbourhood east of Santa Barbara, with rescue efforts, report “BBC”, report Periscope.

The death toll is expected to rise.
More than 50 people have already been rescued, but many countries are still elusive.
Some roads are closed, including highway 101.
