However, the exact number of new voters will be known over the next week, when the Central Election Commission will certified the final voter list, after cleaning up lists even from persons who are no longer in life.
Ermunda Ahmeti has turned 18 years in July of this year. She has already reached the age when by her vote she can choose the new leadership in her municipality. Ermund says he will make it in the October 22nd elections and also orders for young people who have reached maturity.
This year's “is the first time it will come out to vote. I have a message for all Kosovo youth to come out to vote as much as possible. Our vote represents us and we can make a difference in our municipalities”, Ermina told Radio Kosovo.
If Ermunda is even about 15 thousand young people who will have the opportunity to vote this year. This figure will be known more precisely next week, when the Central Election Commission is expected to certified the final voter list.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi says details will be provided on this list for the total number of voters, according to municipalities, but other aspects that concern its cleansing of persons who have died. Cleaning the voter list is being made for the June 11th elections.
The number of people who are no longer in life who have left the voter list was 33 thousand. Cleaning the list, according to Elez, continues until local elections.
This improvement is reflected in the October 22nd Vote List. Certainly, even after the Parliamentary Elections, improving the Vote List is a natural engagement of the Central Election Commission in collaboration with the Central Civil Register Agency. Therefore, knowing that the Voter List stems from the Extact of Central Civil Register, as I said before, with the Certificate of the Voters' Final List we will have precise data regarding this”, Elesi said.
Similarly, Elez said the results of the Voting List challenge and opposition period should be expected, which has been closed on 12 September, where citizens could rightly reject the inaccuracies or concessions of the voting list.
The election campaign for the 22 October local elections is officially expected to begin next week, on September 21st.
