Texas suffered severe hurricane damage, which will cost it to return to normal

Residents and authorities in southeast Texas are preparing for a return to the normal situation that will take years and will probably cost billions of US dollars until Hurricane Harvey withdraws from this region. Whole cities are immersed in flood waters. Authorities have said that over 37 thousand homes have been damaged, another 7 thousand have been completely destroyed, while thousands more suffered minor damage.
Metropolitan Mayor Houston Sylvester Turner, for a local media, said he would require at least $74m in financial aid just to ward off debris from Hurricane Harvey. It has also asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for additional personnel to help apply processes from residents seeking assistance.
“We need an army of FEMA agents on the ground to help people, not only for shelters, but also people who are in their homes, so we can offer them the financial assistance they need and can start transition”, Turner stressed.
Approximately 1 in 10 buildings is flooded only in Houston. The city and its suburbs had been hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, after last Friday it landed like a storm of “kagore 4” (Era at speeds of about 250 km per hour).
At least 47 people lost their lives as a result of storms, likely increasing numbers as search efforts continued in previously flooded areas. Authorities report that over 72 thousand people have been rescued.
Even after Hurricane Harvey loses strength and moves from the region, another storm is erupting in the Atlantic Ocean with potential to do great damage.
Harvey is the first hurricane in the 4th <x0categoryri of <x2x1> to hit Texas from 1961 until now, while Katrina, which caused the biggest damage in the United States in 2005, has been effective in the third “categorence”.
