During the joint press conference today in Kabul, where the president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghan, Mattis and Stoltenberg were present, have said they will do everything possible to see Afghanistan “that is not again a safe haven for international terrorists”.

Stoltenberg said that if NATO forces leave very early, then they risk Afghanistan could become a state of chaos and again become a safe haven for international terrorism”.

Secretary Mattis said that “through our partnership we will eliminate any hope that al-Qaeda or Islamic State, hakan or the Taliban have to win with murder”. These militant groups that Mr. Mattis mentioned operate in Afghanistan.

On the other hand, the senior US official stressed that he wants to repeat for the <x0thlitans that the only way to peace and political legitimacy for them is through resolution with negotiations”.

The sooner the Taliban realize that they cannot win bombs, the sooner the killings will end”, Mattis said.
