You know how many mosques there are in Kosovo, and which one is older?

As far as the Pristina municipality is concerned, the process of building the Central Mosque is stalled, which has been named as the largest in the country, there are nearly 800 other mosques in all of Kosovo, where Muslim believers can perform religious rituals.

These religious objects date back to 1289, when the first mosque was built, the one of Mlica, which is located in the Dragas municipality.

New mosques are being built each year in various settlements throughout Kosovo”, the Kosovo Islamic Community spokesman Ahmet Sadriu has told Gazeta Word.

Construction of new mosques, according to BIK officials was made with the contribution of Kosovo's own citizens of Islamic faith, but also with the help of foreign donors, mainly from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Despite this, a number of citizens continue to perform religious rituals outside the shrines.

However, it does not seem to bother citizens very much, since their numbers of Friday days at a mosque are too large and the scope of religious objects are not enough for everyone to accept.

The number of believers at the mosque on Friday days is, depending on mosques, village cities, variations, from 150 to a thousand believers”, Sadriu said of the Word Gazette.

Each of these mosques has a leadership hierarchy. The main figure in a mosque is imam, muezini, and the mosque council.

A price for the work it does is paid from 250 to 450 euros, money from BIK budget.

Building the Largest Mosque in the country is exhumed

However, Muslims have also pardoned the holiday of Kurban Bajrami on the streets of Pristina again.

The chairman of the Islamic Community, Naim Ternava, could not stand behind the word given for the construction of the Central Mosque, nor 50 days. The first of BIK, on 21 June, had declared that the Great Mosque would be built with or without permission.

He even said that he is able to go to prison on this matter.

The day will come for us to go out and start the Mosque. I'll arrange. He'll take responsibility. If anyone has to be arrested, it's me. If anyone wants responsibility, it's me. I don't want things going up here”, Ternava warned.

However, Ternava's statement has rejected BIC spokesman Ahmet Sadriu.

He has indicated that now BIK will not start building the mosque without obtaining permission from the Pristina municipality.

The “Ende does not have any specific date when mosque construction will start, but we are awaiting the grant of permission from the Pristina municipality”, Sadriu said.

The Word newspaper has asked for clarification from the Pristina Community, whether permission to build will be granted, but so far has not been answered.

BIK's first one had called the fact that for five years Pristina's local government is not granting permission for the construction of the central mosque, the location for which it is divided into the Great Post.

But, Pristina's own head, Shpend Ahmeti, had pledged that the mosque would be built and that they are taking care of its urban and aesthetic aspect.

“Namia will be built, while the commission of the municipality is to implement the law. Since it is the largest mosque in Kosovo, we need to take care of the urban and aesthetic aspect more than ordinary objects. As the largest mosque will be the reference point beyond our mandates of pan embarrassment. The mosque is neither out of anger nor out of favor. ”, Ahmeti added.

Ahmeti had repeated this stance even later, where for the media it had indicated that the mosque would be built at the location where it was given and that only a few issues remained to be defined, adding that the issue was politicised.

Two million believers are expected to participate in Hadge

Two million Muslims from around the world this week are staying in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for pilgrimage to Hagi.

Hagi is one of five pillars of Islamic faith, which each Muslim must serve at least once in his life.

This year marks the return to Hadge of Muslims from Iran.

According to this year's report, the most religious country in the world is Thailand, where 98% of the population are declared believers. In second place, Nigeria ranks 97%, while Kosovo, India, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Papua New Guinea share third place by 94%.

But the least religious countries are: China, Sweden, Chechya and Great Britain.
