What really lies behind the Myanmar crisis

The Rollingaya conflict in Myanmar, which had caught the second wind in August 2017, appears to be a multidimensional crisis involving large geopolitical players, experts say, referring to internal and external reasons after the recent outbreak of violence in the country. The Rohingyan conflict that erupted among Buddhists [...]

The Rogeyane conflict, which erupted between Buddhists and Muslims in the western state of Myanmar's Rakhins in late August, appears to have been inspired by global foreign players, said Dimitri Mosyakov, director of the Centre for Southeast Asia, Australia and the Ocean at Russia's Academy of Oriental Sciences and Studies, “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.

According to academics, the conflict has at least three dimensions.

“S first, this is a game against China, as China has very big investments in Arakina [Rakhine]”, Mosyakov told “RT” “second, it aims to promote Muslim extremism in Southeast Asia. And third, it's trying to plant disagreement within A SEENCE [between Myanmar, Indonesia and Malaysia dominated by Muslims]”, he added.

According to Mosyakov, the conflict of the century is used by foreign players to undermine the stability of Southeast Asia, especially in view of the fact that what is at stake is the large reserve of hydrocarbons (natural gas) placed on the open sea of the state of Rakhine.

“There is a large gas field called Than Shw”, Mosyakov said.

In addition, the coastal area of Aran [Rakhine] almost certainly contains hydrocarbon oil”, he stressed.

After massive energy reserves discovered in Rakhine in 2004, they attracted China's attention. Until 2013 China completed oil and natural gas pipelines linking the port of Myanmar with Kyaukphyun to the Chinese city of Kunming in the province of Yunnan.

Development of the Sino-Myanmar power project coincided with the intensifying of the Roingya conflict in 2011-2012 when 120,000 asylum seekers fled the country fleeing the bloodshed.

According to Dmitry Egorchenkov, deputy director of the Institute for Strategic Studies at Russia's University of Friendship, it is no coincidence. Although there are some internal causes following the Rohingey crisis, it can also be fed by foreign players, especially the United States of America.

Myanmar Destabilisation can affect China's energy projects and create a pocket of instability on Beijing's threshold. In view of the ongoing crisis between the United States and North Korea, another Chinese neighbor, Beijing may soon be busy at intersections.

Meanwhile, Task Force of Burma, which includes a number of organisations funded by George Soros, has acted actively in Myanmar since 2013, calling on the international community to stop what they call “acid of the Muslim minority group Rohingya”. However, Soros' intervention in Myanmar's internal affairs is something deeper than what we've learned these years about this case.

In 2003, George Soros joined the US Task Force group aimed at boosting US co-operation with other countries to bring a long political, economic and social transformation to Burma [Mianmar].

Foreign Relations Council document (CFR) 2003 titled “Burma: Time for Change”, which announced the group's establishment, insisted that “democracy... cannot survive in Burma without the help of the United States and the international community”.

When George Soros comes to this or that place... he seeks religious, ethnic or social contradictions, chooses the pattern of action for one of these options or their combinations and tries to “:x2>”, Egorchenko explained, speaking of “RT”

On the other hand, according to Mosyakov, it seems that some established global economies are trying to contain the rapid economic development of <x0 countries. A SEA”, prompting internal disputes within the bloc.

The academy showed that the policy of global management envisions sowing disputes in sustainable regional formations. By fueling regional conflicts, foreign players jump into the opportunity to gain control of sovereign states and exert considerable pressure on them.

The conflict that began about a century ago has gradually escalated since 2011, peaking in 2012, when thousands of Muslim families sought refuge in special refugee camps in the country's territory or fled to Bangladesh./Periscopi/
